14.00 – 16.00: Sustainable Alpaca Wool Art Workshop with Lynn Haughton Age: 15+
Lynn Haughton will guide beginners to create beautiful things by reusing left over wool from the local Alpacas of Wexford Alpaca Farm. Using a blend of soft alpaca wool, felting techniques, and reclaimed fabric offcuts, participants will create their own unique textile artwork inspired by nature, colour, and texture. This relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop offers an opportunity to explore sustainability creatively while learning simple fibre art techniques.
19.00 – 20.30: All about Wexford Alpacas Farmstead with Carmel Mahony
Carmel shares with the audience stories of their idyllic heritage site farmhouse and its history, about their farm of beautiful alpacas and rescue ponies and how alpacas are such a therapeutic animal for all. She will discuss sustainability within farming and explain how alpacas are being integrated into Irish culture. Just one example of the positivity of interculturalism in society.
