Culture Night 2019
This year to celebrate culture night 2019 we are hosting amazing FREE events that are sure to be fun for all the family.
Join use here at 5pm and again at 6pm for two 30 minute sessions for Family Trad Songs Singalong with Aileen Lambert. Celebrate Culture night with workshops for all ages that is guaranteed to have everyone singing at the top of their voices with some well-known traditional songs combined with songs with great stories featuring a King with Horse’s Ears and poor Paddy O Brien’s adventures in the belly of a whale! Aileen Lambert is a traditional singer and delivers traditional song workshops in primary schools as part of Music Generation and the Heritage in Schools Scheme. She is passionate about sharing our traditional song heritage and engages in a variety of traditional song projects. This includes facilitating community song projects such as the Kilmuckridge Song Project and ‘By Land and Sea – Songs of Blackwater and Beyond’, with support from Wexford County Council and in 2017 she devised and coordinated, with her husband Michael Fortune, a national project involving ten traditional singers composing new songs in the traditional style entitled ‘Songs for our Children’, supported by the Arts Council and a range of local authorities.
